Study in Malaysia from Kenya: affordable English-taught degrees, many from UK and Australian branch campuses, with several intakes a year.

Malaysia combines lower tuition, roughly US$3,000 to US$17,000 a year, with living costs well below the UK or Australia. Many universities are branch campuses of UK and Australian universities, so you can earn an internationally known degree for less.

Visa: your university applies for your student pass through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) while you are still in Kenya. You need health insurance recognised in Malaysia and a medical check within 7 days of arriving.

Entry after KCSE: usually a foundation year, with direct entry to some diplomas. A Levels and the IB Diploma give direct entry to most bachelor's degrees.

Intakes: often January, May and September.

Work: university students may apply to work up to 20 hours a week at approved places such as restaurants, hotels and campus jobs, with Immigration Department approval. Most students budget without relying on work.

MultiWorld International helps you compare Malaysian universities, apply and prepare your EMGS documents.
