Study Abroad from Uganda: Entry Requirements, Visas and Our Kampala Office (2027)
MultiWorld has an office in Kampala, so Ugandan students get the same one-to-one support as our Nairobi students: choosing a course and country, applying to universities and preparing a strong visa file. This guide explains which results universities accept, where you apply for your visa in Kampala and how to start.
Quick answer
With UACE: many universities accept UACE principal passes for direct entry to a bachelor's degree, often grade for grade against A Levels.
With UCE only: you usually start with a one-year foundation programme or a college diploma.
Visas: UK and Canadian student visa applications are made online, then you give biometrics at the visa application centres in Kampala. US student visa interviews are at the U.S. Embassy in Kampala.

Which results do universities accept?
UACE (A Level): universities in the UK, Canada, Australia and Europe commonly consider UACE principal passes. Typical UK offers are written like A Level offers, for example BBC to AAA depending on the course and university. Some universities ask for specific subjects for courses such as engineering, medicine or computing.
UCE (O Level): UCE alone is not usually enough for direct degree entry. Foundation programmes in the UK, Australia and Ireland, and diploma programmes at Canadian colleges, are the usual routes.
Diplomas and degrees: a Ugandan diploma can earn credit towards a bachelor's degree at some universities. Graduates with a recognised bachelor's degree can apply for master's programmes, usually with at least a Second Class Lower.
Where Ugandan students study

Canada: college diplomas with co-op placements and post-study work options. See study in Canada.
USA: flexible majors and merit scholarships. See study in the USA.
Australia, Europe, Malaysia, Dubai and Cyprus: strong options at different budgets. See all study destinations.
